Personalisation in Supported Employment

This information session will provide a brief overview of personalisation and the journey so far in the UK. It will also cover the implications for supported employment in a ‘person-centred’ system. The presenters will share how the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE) is responding to the personalisation agenda in the UK. The session will conclude with how the learning from the UK can be translated into an Irish context.

This year's conference of the British Association for Supported Employment takes place in the heart of Glasgow on 12-13 September.

European Commission publish Supported Employment Study (PDF)
The European Commission have published their in depth study on supported employment in conjunction with Cowie The Work Institute Norway and EUSE. It looked at supported employment in all European Countries and in depth with six countries.

NATIONAL SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT WEEK 2012
April 23rd - April 29th 2012
IASE National supported employment week will take place for the third time in Ireland from April 23rd to 29th 2012. Supported Employment organisation , job seekers and employers will show case employment for people with disabilities through a variety of themed events, seminars and a national publicity campaign to raise awareness of employment for people with disabilities.
IASE NATIONAL 'JOB SHADOW INITIATIVE' 2012

Following the tremendous success of the previous four years we look forward to the fifth annual Job Shadow initiative (JSI) in 2012.
Hundreds of Individuals with disabilities throughout Ireland will have the unique opportunity to shadow a workplace mentor (employee) as they go through a normal working day within hundreds of Employment sites/Companies across the Country.

THE PLANNING PROCESS
A survey is to identify priorities towards the compilation of the IASE strategic plan from 2011–2013 was undertaken throughout May and June 2011. Results will be available soon.
