Certificate in Supported Employment, Dublin – September 2016

OTC Course

A new fully QQI accredited (Level 7) Supported Employment course has been announced by the Open Training College to be delivered in Dublin commencing September 29th 2016.


The Certificate in Supported Employment Course is delivered through blended learning with a mixture of classroom workshop and online supports. The assessment is by written assignment which will be submitted after close consultation and guidance from your assigned tutor.


The course is designed for staff working in mainstream supported employment services. They are suited to aspiring job coaches, employment officers, day centre staff, those commencing works in the Government Supported Employment Programmes, Personal Assistants and staff of special schools and colleges, who aim to assist people with employment support needs to make the transition into integrated paid employment.


This course provides a firm theoretical understanding of the world of works and supported employment, including an exploration of the changing landscape of employment law and policy within the whole of Ireland. Participants will develop and demonstrate all the core skills associated with the management and application of the 5-stage process of Supported Employment and career development.

Engagement – Vocational Profiling – Job Finding – Employer Contact- On/off Job Support.

Workshop 1: Thursday & Friday, September 29th & 30th, 9:00am – 4:30pm

Workshop 2: Thursday & Friday, October 6th & 7th, 9:30am – 4:30pm

Assignment Submission date:

12 weeks after commencement of course – January, 2017


Cost: €995   – QQI Special Purpose Award – Level 7 (20 credits)
