Lisa McEvoy from Green Gables Training Centre, a part of the St John of God Menni Services was delighted to “shadow” An Taoiseach on National Job Shadow Day 2014.
Lisa is in her 2nd year of training towards employment programme at Green Gables Rehabilitative Training Centre, where the students train in community development; media studies; preparation for work; numeric and literacy studies amongst others.

With less than two weeks to go Job Shadow Day is around the corner and IASE are calling on media, photography and journalism students throughout Ireland to get involved and lend a hand in a national awareness campaign to promote employment for people with disabilities.

A short history of the IASE and supported employment in Ireland
This month, the IASE has reached a milestone anniversary. It has been 20 years since the association was founded. In this blog, we look back over two decades of the IASE with a brief history of supported employment in Ireland and of the association itself.
The IASE was founded in February 1994 by Christy Lynch. Mr Lynch began his career in the field of intellectual disability as an occupational therapist.
